what is the difference between the fat playstation 3 and the slim playstation 3?

some people keep telling me not to buy the slim because the arent as good as the fat ones and that there is a whole lot of difference from the old one…. someone who knows alot about the fat playstation 3 and the slim playstation 3 please help me out

Well the fat ps3 as you know is a tank. It has backwards compatability so you can play ps2 games, and it has the memory card slots, and 4 usb slots. Now one probolem with it is the fact that its so huge it uses a big Power Supply which gives a higher risk of the YLOD. The slim model is just that, a slimed donw ps3. It can do everything the old ps3’s could do except, for the backwards combatabiltiy part. It only has 2 usbs and no memory card slots. Its even more whisper quiet then the old model and it still has the removable hdd. Due to the fact its smaller it uses a smaller power supply and has a less chance of getting the YLOD. And of course the fats come in 60GB and 80GB where the slims come in 120GB and 250GB, though you can always buy bigger HDD for both models. Pearsonly i reccomend the slim, you cant go wrong with it, unless you wanna play PS2 games and you need to have those sd cards in there, the slim is the best option for you.
